Job DescriptionSeeking a Controller to lead the Accounting team. The Controller is responsible for establishing Accounting workflows to include billing, collections, vendor payments, payroll, compliance, internal controls and financial reporting. The Controller will conduct performance management to consistently achieve objectives, including recruiting, training, and managing Accounting team members.Essential FunctionsManage the activities of the corporate accounting team for the accurate and timely close of monthly financial operations, and the dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.Establish and maintain structures and controls that verify the integrity and security of all financial systems, processes and data.Find, analyze and execute opportunities to improve processes (by driving automation) and elevate the quality & accuracy of all deliverables.Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.Conduct bank reconciliations for all bank accounts that include MSP activity for various customers and ensure activity provided by various processing partners is correct.Conduct balance sheet reconciliations monthly, with all accounts reconciledOversee the activities of the invoicing (accounts receivable) team to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management.Oversee the activities of the disbursement team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.Supervise, coach, train, develop, and performance manage the accounting staff.Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages the Accounting team. This position's responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Work Environment and Physical DemandsThis job operates in a professional office environment.
