JOB SUMMARY: Our growing biotechnology company is looking for an in-house Architect. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing construction documents and creating, evaluating, developing and manipulating designs or technical solutions to meet the needs of our President & CEO. The ideal candidate should be open to contributing designs to our repository of residential and commercial blueprints. Typical responsibilities include: field verification of existing conditions, 3D model creation, conceptual design, construction/permit documents and detailing, building code research, permit research and coordination, coordination with consultants and contractors, construction administration and submittal review. Create design concepts and take them into 3D modeling/rendering for visual presentations. . Utilize experience with all phases of project deliverables from concept design through construction administration. . Work independently or with minor oversight to perform assignments including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation. . Produce mood, material and design presentations independently or with minimal supervision. . Produce furniture plans, specifications, material selections and schedules needed for construction documentation independently or with minimal supervision. . Participate in client and consultant meetings. . Effectively communicate design ideas by hand sketching and/or digital graphics. . Ability to meet deadlines, budgets, and scheduling needs. . Create architectural designs based on customer input and feedback. . Prepare and execute client contracts pursuant to specific consultations. . Adjust contracts and designs to meet the changing needs of clients. . Adhere to all industry standards in design. . Communicate with contractors and construction workers to implement designs.EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: . Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Design or related field (M.Arch preferred). . LEED AP a plus. . 6+ years' experience working in residential and commercial architectural design. . Registration with NCARB. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: . Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. Working knowledge of VectorWorks. . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. . Knowledge of building codes, ordinances, and regulations. . Willingness to travel within 90-mile radius.
