In this role you serve as a Charge Nurse / Unit Lead while still having your own patient assignments most of the time. This role can be a stepping stone into a Nursing Supervisor (House Supervisor), Nurse Manager or other leadership / broader scope position. We do require a BSN as well as at least 2 years of work experience as an RN in med surg or a similar fast paced hospital floor environment.Key Responsibilities:* Provides direction and support to unit staff. Supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans. Evaluates and documents patient progress.* Facilitates planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit.* Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures.* Serves as a liaison between the manager, staff and other areas within the organization. Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of patient care services in a unit.* Other duties as assigned.* Maintains professional development.* This position is on our 30-bed general Medical-Surgical unit. Our staff are skilled in caring for patients with Continuous Ambulation Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD).* Full time, benefit eligible* 36 hours per week (Three 12 hour shifts)* Night shiftWhat You Will NeedRequired Credentials:* Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date.* Certified BLS Provider specializing in Health Service Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date. Or military CPR-First Aid training.Education and Work Experience:* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred.* A minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the same or similar clinical setting / unit.
