A well-established software consultancy is seeking a UI Engineer to join their team in a 6 month contract to hire basis. This organization partners with a variety of public sector client to develop cutting edge applications. The UI Engineer will be working in Washington DC directly with their client to build a brand new high profile financial monitoring application. The idea candidate will have a strong foundation with JavaScript and experience with a modern framework like React or Angular. You will be bridging the gap between visual elements and the server side infrastructure to take an active role in defining how the application looks. Required Skills & Experience 4+ years professional experience with JavaScript/ UI development Comfortable with React or Angular Strong knowledge of OOP principles Comfortable with HTML5 and CSS3 Familiarity with Sever side programming in Node or Java is a plus Ability to organize and manage multiple projects to completion Bachelors Degree Ability to obtain a public trust clearance What You Will Be Doing Develop new user-facing features and functionality for our applications Working on the front lines of the product team Build reusable code and libraries for future use Ensure the technical feasibility of UX designs Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end services The Offer Competitive hourly rate up to 55/hr DOE Conversion to full time employee after 6 months You will receive the following benefits: Medical, Dental 401(k) Accrued sick time Pretax commuter benefit
