Job Announcement

Serves as an expert in business process and partnership development. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the county-wide volunteer management system. Creates and maintains statistical reports with contributions to create the results based accountability, budget performance and outcome measures for the Volunteer and Partner Services (VPS) team. Provides narrative reports as requested to community partners and internal partners. Maintains records for state, local and county policy requirements. Develops, administers, and analyzes volunteer and partner surveys. Develops and maintains a quarterly partnership report for external and internal agencies to include statistics to strengthen procedures to train, recruit and manage volunteer programs. Serves as the expert and trainer for the volunteer management database system. Manages Study Buddy, On-call and Parent Education volunteers. Develops and coordinates one-time volunteer events. Explores additional opportunities for interagency collaboration. Participates in agency workgroups related to volunteer engagement. Works under the direct supervision of the Volunteer and Partner Services Director. Assists the Volunteer and Partner Services Director in coordinating with media/public relations contacts and participating in special events to publicize and promote VPS activities and goals. Packages educational and informational material needed to publicize volunteer and partner opportunities. Maintains communications and assists in sustaining working relationships with volunteers and partners.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus two years of professional social work experience. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Contingent upon the area of assignment, some positions within this class may require specific certification(s) prior to employment and/or the ability to acquire necessary certification(s) within a specified time period following employment. The certifications are identified in the position description and employment advertisement .

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
None.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience working with the county-wide volunteer management system.
  • Experience working directly to create and report on outcome measures; experience working with volunteers, community partners, and volunteer boards; experience working with local volunteer organizations and building partnerships.
  • Strong planning, writing and critical thinking skills.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Appointee must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sufficiently mobile to travel throughout the Northern Virginia region, to make presentations, attend meetings and events outside the office. Ability to use automated technology. Possesses clear and concise oral and written communication skills. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
