Summary

As a Management and Program Analyst at the GS-0343-12 with a full performance level of GS-12, , you will be part of Retirement Services, Office of Personnel Management, with responsibility for carrying out a variety of analytical, evaluative and project-type assignments in the area of Federal employee retirement and insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, coordinate, and perform working involving the research and analysis of fraudulent claims.
  • Investigate claims of elder abuse, non-reporting of deaths and representative payees mishandling of funds.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers at management levels to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Analyze, extract, summarize, and identify significant trends and issues concerning program performance, procedures and standards.
  • Conduct analyses, evaluations, or investigations in support of organizational programs, systems and processes.
  • Ensures that high quality, technically correct, and timely services provided to all who come in contact with the branch.
  • Review decision packages other documents for timeliness, procedural correctness, completeness ,and apparent responsiveness to requirements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and procedures used to manage the work of the office.

Qualifications

For the GS12: You must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the Federal GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sectors), which included at least three of the following:
  • Performing work supporting retirement or insurance benefits program activities or functions, including controlling laws and policies, and payment processes;
  • Monitoring, operating or maintaining information technology systems supporting a retirement or insurance benefits program;
  • Analyzing and conducting studies of automated systems and/or operational activities to identify and resolve problems;
  • Collecting and analyzing data on administrative and program operations to formulate and present recommendations and solutions.
  • You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Education is not substitutable for the required specialized experience at this grade level.

    Relocation expenses will not be paid. Current OPM employees may qualify as an exception.

    The full performance level of this position is GS-12.
