Your team will comprise of business, analysis, testing, and infrastructure partners, all working together to enhance the capabilities of these systems.

Your Work Falls Into Three Primary Categories:

Software Development
  • Understand Business needs and processes; identify solutions, present and work with project team/sponsors in identifying best solution
  • Participate in Requirements Analysis; design Applications based on System Requirements; promote top code quality and solve challenging issues related to performance tuning and scalability.
  • Provide production support that includes evaluate defects, investigate cause and come up with solutions to address defects.
  • Implementation of software application changes with aggressive deployment timelines.
  • Execute department processes in a high-quality, efficient and team oriented manner.

  • Contribute in creating delivery pipelines for newly created Micro Services on Docker and Open shift platforms.
  • Support building Micro Services practice within development group with objective to create standards, tools and training other developers.

Application Support
  • Support one of Freddie Mac's core applications in providing Level 3 support. This support includes providing fixes to production defects and making light enhancements.
  • Quickly evaluate defects, investigate cause and come up with solutions to address the defect.
  • Production support and providing clear communication to Management, Logistics and the Business on the resolution of incidents.


  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience from which knowledge and skills may be obtained
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development; 2 years of relevant experience and specialized training or certification in the following technologies: J2EE, Java, Web Development and SQL; Groovy a plus;
  • Experience in using Java & UI frameworks - Angular, Spring, STRUTS or Jquery
  • Position requires strong analytical skills, software engineering process skills, and the understanding of XML and creation of XML test data.
  • Experience with IBM ODM, ILOG JRules or any other Rule Engine preferred
  • Experience with UML, SQL and UNIX Shell Script
  • Experience with SOAP based Web services is preferred.
  • Experience with REST based Web services is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap, JSON, Jenkins, Maven Builds is a plus.
  • Experience in developing APIs using Spring Boot framework, ideally with Docker container or OpenShift Cloud Platform (OCP)
  • Looking for strong understanding and implementation of tried and true as well as modern design patterns and architectural principles.
  • Languages: Java, C#, AngularJS, node.js, Python
  • Modern Tools: TFS, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Cucumber/Specflow, Atlassian Suite (Bamboo, Jira, Bitbucket), Git
  • DBs: SQL, Mongo, DB2 (Legacy Sybase for transformation efforts)
  • Cloud: Preferably AWS Optional: Azure, Google
  • Other: Docker, RH Openshift, Kubernetes, Mobile development,
  • Hand written communication
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills
