The Internal Reporting Group within Corporate Accounting is seeking a Financial Controller Senior to execute the monthly close cycle process including financial statement preparation, financial results analysis, and reporting to both internal and external audiences. This position is also responsible for the preparation and review of our monthly and quarterly Call Reports that are submitted to FHFA.

Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:

Manage Work Flow to support the Monthly Close Cycle

  • Manage to a tight deadlines driven by the corporate close calendar
  • Prepare and review financial statements for both internal and external audiences. Includes disclosures for the 10-K, 10-Q, and Segment reporting
  • Execute all controls that must be performed at the Senior level (e.g., review and sign-off on financial statements and tables)
  • Manage the process for producing monthly and quarterly Call Reports provided to FHFA

Updating nVision Layouts used to Generate Financial Reports
  • Work with business areas to understand underlying need for a layout update
  • Review requirements and design documents for changes to our layouts
  • Perform and Review results of User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Manage Initiatives and Controls
  • Assist with reviewing accounting policies and memos to determine the proper presentation of activities on financial reports, if applicable
  • Supervise Financial Controller Professionals and Rotational Finance Analysts
  • Maintain current controls documentation (process flows) for all processes
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a financial reporting position
  • Bachelor's degree in either accounting or finance (accounting preferred)
  • Strong ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Familiarity with one or more financial reporting tools
