The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is U.S. Citizens Only. This is a Regular-Full-Time position, with guaranteed 40 work hours per administrative week. This position does include benefits. This position serves as the Director, Revenue Development for Stars and Stripes, and is located in Washington, DC.

  • Serves as the Director for revenue activities of Stars and Stripes worldwide. Providing guidance, assistance and direction to Stars and Stripes senior management team. Directs the revenue activities to achieve targeted monthly and annual goals
  • Responsible for planning budgeting, managing and executing comprehensive revenue programs to include multimedia sales, commercial printing, single copy, home delivery and other revenue opportunities
  • Responsible for development of goals for the revenue program and ensuring the achievement of goals.
  • Responsible for audience development - print and digital - using a full array of new and traditional techniques for both home delivery and single copy distribution, tablet subscriptions, etc
  • Develops sales campaigns, promotion, point-of-purchase displays, contests, sample programs, display booths and organize and attend events.
  • Responsible for the development and the achievement of budgeted revenue and expense projections. Participate in the development of new products and revenue streams. .
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention and full supervisory duties of assigned staff. Assign work, establish priorities, set deadlines and ensure personnel are used to best advantage.

12+ years of specialized experience in revenue development and sales management. A 4-year degree/bachelor at an accredited US educational institution in the field of business, liberal arts or related subject area may be substituted for 4 years of specialized experience. Previous supervisory experience at senior level management. Knowledge and ability acquired through the performance of duties of the caliber described above. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Strong sales experience including experience with advertising agencies, strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively, creative ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences, self-motivated and to develop across departments for a project.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the US Military and the Federal government.
Specific experience with digital sales and revenue initiatives using the internet.
Experience with sales for a commercial news organization.
