Responsibilities

  • Incumbent is responsible for providing technical and administrative leadership to professional security and information technology teams; directs, manages and integrates Directorate Functions, Activities, and Operations.
  • Assures the development and coordination of integrated Information Technology plans, programs, applications, analyses and review, effectiveness and efficiency assessments, and all other assigned IT functions to result in full mission accomplishment.
  • The incumbents responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing individual training plans, professional development programs, position classifications, time and attendance, occupation safety and health and processes personnel actions.
  • Develops performance plans and rate employees; Interviews candidates for subordinate positions; recommend hiring, promotion, or reassignments.
  • Takes disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands; Identifies developmental and training needs of employees; provide and/or arrange for needed development and training.
  • Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees; Provides technical oversight.
  • The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the Organization's information assurance program.
  • The incumbent is responsible for planning and organizing security operations of the organization in all functional areas and has full and complete functional authority to ensure completion.

  • If selected, you will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • access/eligibility along with SPECIAL ACCESS PROGRAM (SAP) access and eligibility in order to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • The clearance process can take 120 days or longer to complete. This position requires prepublication review.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level NH-02. Specialized experience is defined as:
  • Experience in IT principles, methods, and practices in order to plan, design, and implement new information technology operating procedure;
  • experience in network protocols and troubleshooting techniques;
  • experience implementing IT security management tools and procedures;
  • and experience monitoring and evaluating information security compliance with policies and regulations.

Education cannot be substituted for experience.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Cybersecurity
  • Information Technology Performance Assessment
  • Network Operation
  • Oral Communication
