This position supports the activities of School Social Workers and Student Assistance Specialists. The employee assists with planning and coordinating meetings and events; maintains the databases for Restorative Practice, Student Support Services, and Student Assistance Services; helps compile and edit reports, and correspondence; and coordinates office activity. The employee completes assignments independently and uses his/her own initiative to devise solutions and improvements to the databases, spreadsheets, publications and forms.

Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate:
• Provides administrative and clerical support to the Supervisor of Student Support Services and Supervisor of Student Assistance Services to support School Social Workers and Student Assistance Specialists.
• Supports the Restorative Practices Program, Insight Class, and PEER programs which includes maintaining all databases associated with those services and required reporting.
• Creates, updates, and maintains all lists, division policies, procedures, and resources located in the document libraries for School Social Workers and Student Assistance Specialists.
• Updates and maintains the intranet and internet sites for Student Support Services and Student Assistance Services.
• Tracks, updates, and maintains data for Restorative Practices, Student Support Services, and Student Assistance Services in student information systems as well as other database systems.
• Compiles necessary program data to create the needed statistics for the VDOE Annual State Report.
• Submits purchase orders at the request of the Supervisor of Student Support Services and Student Assistance Services
• Designs and creates surveys and evaluations to collect data for Individual and Group Support, Restorative Practice, Insight Class, PEER program, and other surveys as requested by Supervisor of Student Support Services and Supervisor of Student Assistance Services.
• Works with Supervisors to initiate, coordinate, and facilitate events (e.g. trainings, team building exercises, etc.) for staff
• Produces flyers and brochures for Student Support and Student Assistance Services.
Qualifications

• Associate• s degree required; Bachelor• s degree preferred
• Specialized training in using databases, spreadsheets, student information, publishing and word processing software
• Experience in producing accurate reports and publication using data from numerous sources
• Knowledge of standard word processing, spreadsheet, scheduling, and presentation (PowerPoint and Publisher) software
• Ability to maintain databases on multiple systems through data entering, editing, and updating procedures; working knowledge of Phoenix Student Information Systems preferred
• Ability to determine and set work priorities, maintain confidentiality, work independently, and work effectively during periods of heavy workloads
• Strong skills in management and organization

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

This is an Non-Exempt position.
