Cost Engineer, Senior
Key Role:
Lead and manage cost teams performing independent cost engineering and cost analysis of DoD programs by translating technical requirements into cost information. Develop junior- and mid-level cost engineers through training and mentorship. Lead in the identification of cost data to be collected and ensure it is collected, review draft work breakdown structures (WBSes), review draft cost reporting plans, normalize data, perform statistical regression analysis, learning curve analysis, and other analyses, estimate the costs of software development and maintenance, perform modeling in Microsoft Excel or review Excel-based cost models using dynamic formulas, including complex conditional statements and database lookup commands, assess, quantify, and incorporate cost uncertainty through Monte Carlo discrete event simulation, document and present results, communicate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings. Grow the size of teams and the business base. Support successful program acquisition milestone reviews using analyses, support contract negotiations, analyze program budget submittals and should cost initiatives to improve program efficiency, and evaluate the costs of multiple future program options. Focus on the development of a cost estimate with detailed basis of estimate justification and the development and implementation of cost estimating training and processes. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Basic Qualifications:
-6+ years of experience with defense cost estimation
-Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-Experience with data collection and analysis
-Experience with DoD acquisition and major milestone support
-Experience with statistical regression analysis and probabilities
-Experience with discrete event simulation, including Monte Carlo simulation
-Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision
-Active Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with manufacturing process flow
-Experience with supply chain management and logistics
-Experience with management and business development
-Possession of excellent leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
-International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A) Certification a plus
