DCS is seeking an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Software Engineer to provide software engineering support including requirements analysis, software design, development, and test of complex software systems for unmanned aircraft.

Essential Job Functions:

Implement system requirements as well as developing and analyzing the detailed software requirements for various Ground Control Station applications.

Use knowledge and experience to perform development (code and debug), integrate, and test flight-critical and simulator applications.

Design, code, simulate, integrate and validate software.

Support and derive algorithm design from detailed software requirements.

Work within a defined software life cycle development process.

Present at, participate in design reviews, and code walkthrough.

Will work closely with other engineering disciplines. Focused on getting the job done.

Participate in System Integration Lab (SIL) development and integrated system testing with other engineers.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have an active DoD SECRET Security Clearance.

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science plus 8 years of experience, a Master's Degree plus 6 years or a PhD plus 4 years of experience is required.

5-8 years of experience in Windows or Linux application software development. Qt experience a plus.

5-8 years of experience C/C++.

Object Oriented Design experience a must.

Experience using JIRA Software.

Experience in software lifecycle development and standards a plus.

Agile Software Development Process Management experience required.

Familiarity with IDEs and debuggers.

Familiarity with configuration management tools and techniques.

Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience with UAS, drones, or robotics is a plus.

Working knowledge of a defined software design standard (such as DO-178) is a plus.

Technical knowledge and experience with the following are a plus; serial communications, network communications, TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE).
