Summary

This position serves as an Intelligence Analyst in the Intelligence Division of the Office of Protective Services (OPS). OPS is responsible for providing Agency-wide executive and functional leadership, integrated security strategy and planning, policy formulation, oversight, guidance, coordination and advocacy for the Agency's Protective Services. This position is being announced in conjunction with vacancy announcement number HQ19C0109 open to status and certain noncompetitive candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating all-source intelligence on a range of topics to include space, counterspace, cyber, and emerging technologies.
  • Performs in-depth research, compilation, and analysis of a wide range of complex and sensitive information to determine threats to NASA?s missions, programs, resources, and assets.
  • Coordinates threat information with national level counterparts and other NASA Intelligence Specialists both locally and at other centers. Recommends alternative courses of action that will enable NASA to respond timely and effectively to threats.
  • Plans, initiates, and organizes Agency-wide administrative procedures in intelligence research, production, and dissemination. Assessments include the analysis of unforeseen developments, new phenomena, and rapidly shifting considerations.
  • Provides briefings to appropriate NASA management officials concerning possible threats to NASA missions, personnel, facilities, and operations.
  • Identifies and researches intelligence requirements, directives, databases, and various ancillary sources to gather and disseminate intelligence information in support of missions and programs Agency-wide.
  • Communicates with technical or scientific programs or projects and other stakeholders to ensure intelligence products are addressing requirements.
  • Serves as a NASA representative to appropriate Intelligence Community (IC) working groups, committees, and subcommittees.

Qualifications

Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-13), which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

Specialized experience to qualify at the GS-14 grade level is defined as:

SKILL SET #1 - Experience researching, analyzing, writing, reviewing, and disseminating written intelligence products, often of a complex or conflicting nature, to senior officials on sensitive intelligence topics;

SKILL SET #2 - Experience assessing intelligence requirements and providing analytical intelligence products for scientific or technical programs and projects relating to the space domain and counterspace threats; AND

SKILL SET #3 - Experience collaborating with the IC, Department of Defense (DoD), and civil agencies to exchange and present intelligence information, identify and incorporate innovative strategies, and enhance intelligence analysis tradecraft and procedures.

The ideal candidate currently holds a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Please indicate the level of your clearance in your resume.
