Summary

You will serve as a Postal Operations Director in the Naval District Washington (NDW) Postal Division, Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

Responsibilities

  • You will be charged with providing a full range of supervision to subordinate branches and division personnel in the processing of all official mail generated by various commands, detachments and offices within NCR and NDW.
  • You will provide postal program support; administer management control and financial accountability for Postal assets and operation.
  • You will ensure adherence to postal directives and policies, and promote understanding of Postal directives and policies within NCR.
  • You will serve as the point of contact and liaison among local Commands, higher authorities, the U.S. Postal Service, and other vendor/carriers.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Postal Operations Director experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service providing a full range of leadership to organizational personnel in processing of all official mail generated by various organizational levels . Specific work experience must demonstrate the following duties: 1) Apply thorough knowledge of accounting management, and the technical policies and methods for the accountability control, financial administrative procedures for the utilization of postal funds, operational cost and expenditures of metering postage, paper stamps, and other monetary expenditures within existing budgetary laws; 2) Utilize expert knowledge of the systematic methods, policies, and instructions concerning complex, sensitive, and routine postal operations and inspections, audits of postal effects, fixed credits of stamps, and facilities; 3) Provide management analysis and skill in the interpretation of complicated technical information and administrative investigations, and development of procedures for the inspection and auditing of accountable postal items, facilities, and other negotiable postal matters; and 4) Provide technical guidance, direction, assistance, consultation, and recommendations of mail service policies to managers.
