The Administrative Assistant for World Languages and Cultures will provide office support for a variety of world
language activities. This includes organizing, preparing and facilitating all components of the Credit through Testing
exam

Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to
the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed
appropriate:
* Prepares all assessments for all assessed languages.
* Schedules testing sessions and travels to schools to manage and proctor exam administration.
* Schedules testing dates, meeting with assessors and others as needed.
* Maintains and updates data on the LCPS Language Assessment Reporting System.
* Coordinates meetings with parents, assessors and teachers for our CTT program.
* Responds to inquiries about the Credit through Testing program and the Seal of Biliteracy.
* Prepares and writes reports including results of assessments and interpretations of scores.
* Provides completed reports in a timely manner.
* Consults and collaborates with local school personnel regarding registration for exam and other pertinent
information.
* Attends and participates in various WLC meetings, conferences and curriculum groups, as requested.
* Provides translation, interpretation and revision of assessments for any spoken languages, other than English.
* Supports and actively participates in the Office of World Languages and Cultures to deepen the understanding of
the World Language opportunities available for students.

Qualifications

Below are the qualifications for this position:
* High School diploma or GED; Bachelor• s degree from an accredited university or college, preferred
* Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and software programs, including the use of standard office
devices such as PCs, tablets, scanners, printers, photocopiers
* Ability to perform general clerical work accurately and quickly
* Ability to communicate effectively, to work cooperatively with others and to work under pressure and/or with
frequent interruptions
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents
* Speaker of a language other than English, preferred

Physical Requirements
The following provides a brief description of physical requirements for this position:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking. expressing or exchanging ideas by means of
the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers
accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall
and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of
time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift,
carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Itinerant travel is required, and the employee is required to change locations and adapt to multiple environments across
schools and offices. Ability to drive and navigate to multiple locations occasionally within a single day is required.

Pay Scale: Banded Rates
Level: 6 ($18.00 per hour)
This is a Non-Exempt position
