Under general supervision of the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator and the English Learners department,
the EL PEP Instructor plans and implements the PEP curriculum and after school programming and provides related
educational services to participating families, parents, students, and school staff.

• Plans and implements appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities to support the school-
related PEP curriculum for language minority parents.
• Continually assesses family participation and maintains and/or reaches the chosen PTA National Standard for
family-school partnerships.
• Coordinates interpreter support when applicable or needed.
• Coordinates food donations and childcare for each after-school sessions.
• Markets and promotes the school• s PEP after school classes to all families to encourage regular attendance.
• Participates in required or assigned training and professional development activities.
• Attends required to assigned PEP staff meetings.
• Maintains communication and collaboration with the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator on an
ongoing basis.


• High school diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which
• Demonstrated skills in the use of multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning
• Ability to plan and implement lessons based on the Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) Curriculum once
• Ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships with families, parents, guardians, and students to further
instill strong home-school partnerships founded on mutual respect and family empowerment at home in ways
that support student academic performance and success
• Skill in oral and written communications
• Excellent human relation skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of
the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers
accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall
and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of
time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift,
carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Pay Scale: Banded Rate Band: 10 Part-time. Hours vary.

This is a Non-Exempt position.
