Each Middle School will be allotted 60 total hours during the summer to allow School Counselors an opportunity to complete specific duties that are required to complete the current school year and prepare for the upcoming school
year.

Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to
the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed
appropriate:
JUNE:
• Review, expunge, and prepare cumulative records for grade transition
• Finalize grade changes as needed
• Plan new student orientation and transition program
• Complete other counseling duties required to complete the current school year
JULY:
• Support and plan summer orientation and transition program
• Review and track new registrations
• Collaborate with school administration to develop the master schedule
• Manage new student schedules and/or resolve schedule conflicts
AUGUST
• Schedule parent workshops
• Create program calendar
• Analyze data for RAMP and/or program planning
• UMHT/MTSS planning
• PBIS planning/Data Study
• Finish student schedules
• Complete other counseling duties required for begin the current school year

Qualifications
* Master• s Degree from an accredited college or university and completion of an approved school counseling program
* Holds or is eligible for a Virginia Pupil Personnel Services License with an endorsement in school counseling
* Full-time teaching experience or successful experience in school guidance and counseling
* Strong oral and written communication abilities and productive time management skills
* Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and colleagues
Additional Details

Pay Scale: Band 15, $36.90 per hour

The person in this position will report to the Principal
