The Special Education Teacher:
Serves as classroom teacher by implementing appropriate lesson plans and IEP/PEP goals.
Implements the school wide behavior management system.
Provides a therapeutic milieu conducive to teaching students with emotional disturbance.
Demonstrates knowledge of emotional disturbance and ability to establish therapeutic
relationships with students as it contributes to critical success factors of the organization.
Administers effective and appropriate strategies during a crisis intervention.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance own knowledge of
emotional disturbance and instructional strategies .

Qualified candidates will possess:
Masters degree and experience teaching students with ED preferred
1-2 years of experience
Must be eligible for MD teacher certification
Active American Heart Association BLS CPR card
Able to handle a multi-task environment
Adapt to stressful, fast paced environment
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
Maintain emotional and personal equilibrium during crisis situations
Ability to physical restrain students

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8 - 4:30
