Do you want to lead the charge for Cloud Transformation? Are you a lead software engineer that thrives in an innovative and collaborative team? If you have proven Data Engineering experience with AWS Cloud technologies, have led teams of developers, and would like to lead a team that is building an Enterprise Data Lake in the Cloud, apply to join Freddie Mac's Emerging Data Technologies team.

Your work falls into 2 primary categories:

Development & Execution

  • Demonstrate effective and disciplined software development expertise and leadership
  • Deliver solutions on-time with high bar of quality, and continuously improve software engineering practices
  • Work with Product Owners to understand the desired capability, to define and prioritize work, determine deliverables, and manage workloads

Technical Leadership
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to construct a product delivery strategy, roadmaps, and timelines
  • Lead technical discussions and must be able to work and influence a large number of cross functional teams
  • Act as an agent for change regarding the new technologies and tools, promote top code quality by leading design and code reviews, and solve challenging issues related to performance tuning and scalability


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development including design, coding, testing, and support
  • At least 3 years of Cloud infrastructure experience working with one or more of the following Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud services: EC2, EMR, ECS, S3, SNS, SQS, Cloud Formation, Cloud watch, Lambda
  • Hands-on experiences for AWS architecture design, Data Management, Big Data, and Data Warehousing
  • At least 2 years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Scrum methodologies
  • Experience of leading teams of developers

Preferred Skills

  • Master's Degree in Computer Sciences or related fields
  • Proficient with CICD process, Agile and DevOps Software Development Life Cycle including analysis, high level design, coding, testing, and implementation, performance tuning, bug fixing and quality control
  • Experience of building data lake in AWS Cloud, moving Data applications to the Cloud, and developing cloud native Data applications
  • Expertise in creating data models, optimizing data, automating & restructuring data reporting system in financial services domain
  • 2+ years of experience in big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, MongoDB, PostGre SQL)
  • 3+ years of experience using Java, Python or Scala
  • Experience of leading complex data applications with large volumes of data
