Job Announcement

Serves as an enterprise IT infrastructure operator responsible for monitoring (UPS, generators, PDU's, chillers, network, storage, mainframe, telephony, servers, applications, etc.) in the Enterprise Technology Operations Center (ETOC) Operations area. Ensures and supports the high availability of critical systems across all enterprise IT infrastructure environments. Uses automation tools to process scheduled production work loads, runs high speed production mainframe printers, manages backup media, and performs level 1 technical support to customers during Technical Support Center closures.

The Operations Team escalates complex issues to assigned support staff, ensuring all production systems are available based on defined service levels. The state of the facility is closely monitored to ensure an optimum operational environment is maintained for IT infrastructure housed in the ETOC. The Operations Team serves as the first point of contact for vendors resolving hardware problems. Operational tasks conducted on all platforms (Windows, UNIX, Mainframe z/OS, storage, etc.).

Schedule: Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shifts. Weekends, holiday and alternating shift work is also expected.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the following: high school diploma or GED; plus four years relevant experience; or IT job-related course work from an accredited college or trade school in computer science, computer information systems, data processing, information management or a closely related field is preferred.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

Not applicable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One to three years of experience supporting enterprise class information technology infrastructure components in a datacenter environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must successfully complete a criminal background investigation prior to appointment and be recertifiable throughout employment tenure;

Some positions identified by departments must execute IT Employee Agreement acknowledging obligations under information security and privacy requirements in light of broad access to systems and data in the performance of job duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift boxes and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
