Job Announcement

Fairfax County boasts a top-notch school system, safe neighborhoods, thousands of acres of parkland, and bustling town centers. County government sits at the heart of this dynamic community of 1.1 million residents and seeks employees eager to bring their energy, enthusiasm and skills to serve Fairfax residents and to shape the county's future.

Land Development Services (LDS) is the steward of the county's land development and building construction codes and regulations, and its staff members embrace their essential role as "first preventers." Every day, through careful review, permitting and inspection of site and building construction, our staff protects the health, safety, welfare, and environment for those who live in, work in, and visit Fairfax County. Our department also serves as the gateway to much of the county's economic development, reviewing over 26,000 building and site plans, issuing nearly 60,000 building permits, and conducting over 216,000 building and site inspections each year. If you would like to join a creative, collaborative, innovative team doing meaningful work, then LDS is the place for you.

The Land Development Services Director's Office seeks an experienced professional to join its Project Management Team as the Commercial Revitalization Districts Project Coordinator (CRD Coordinator). Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, exemplary customer service expertise, ability to organize and manage complex projects, and familiarity with the land development process. Provides customers involved in land development of sites within the County's designated Commercial Revitalization Districts and Areas with enhanced customer service in navigating the land development process. Serves as an additional staff resource to guide their assigned customers through entitlement, site plan review, building plan review, permitting, bond release and other related processes, working closely with all stakeholders involved in the process, including the customer's team, reviewers from internal and external agencies, Supervisors' offices and private citizens to facilitate efficient processing of applications, permits and other inquiries. Facilitates collaboration among the customer's team and reviewers to provide guidance, recommend processing strategies, answer questions and resolve problems to avoid unnecessary delays. The position may be assigned project management duties for areas outside of the Commercial Revitalization Districts and Areas, as needed. Will be an integral member of the LDS Project Management team, involved in promoting project management best practices throughout LDS and our partner agencies. May be assigned to lead and/or participate in key initiatives relating to improving the land development process and/or projects and initiatives related to the Commercial Revitalization Districts and Areas.
