Dewberry is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our Corporate Accounting & Finance Department at our headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia.


  • Reviews project financial performance for revenue recognition purpose;
  • Contributes to the month end close in a timely manner, including preparation of various journal entries;
  • Manages accurate issuance of the financial statements for joint ventures and special purpose entities;
  • Reviews financial reports of assigned entities to identify issues;
  • Communicate with Operations managers and project managers to resolve financial issues;
  • Supports annual operations budget activities;
  • Participates in the development, modification and review of accounting systems, reporting methods, and controls. Coordinates accounting functions with IT as necessary;
  • Assist project managers with pricing, forecasting, and project spend;
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department .
  • Other areas as needed to support corporate strategic financial goals.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and or Finance
  • C.P.A. or MBA preferred , but not required
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience supporting the finance function
  • Previous Accounting experience would also be a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of team leading experience
  • Experience with Government Contracting would be a plus
  • Knowledge with DCAA filing preferred , but not required
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to make independent judgment
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
