Stars and Stripes news media organization is searching for a Revenue Director with responsibility and managerial authority to develop and conduct advertising and newspaper sales - print and digital. The Stars and Stripes uses the consultative sales approach selling across platforms multimedia services by building custom proposals to meet the needs of prospective advertisers from various sectors (such as government, military, defense contractors, retail and commercial business categories) and audience. The Director will direct the sales team using techniques designed to develop client solutions by mixing appropriate amounts of print, web and other digital applications, special magazines, inserts, commercial print, events and other promotions that fit within the client’s budget, to achieve their goals and objectives. Determines resource needs, allocates resources and accounts for their effective use. Serves as the principal advisor to the Publisher on all matters impacting the revenue program.
12+ years of specialized experience in revenue development and sales management. A 4-year degree/bachelor at an accredited US educational institution in the field of business, liberal arts or related subject area may be substituted for 4 years of specialized experience. Previous supervisory experience at senior level management.
The best candidates will have superior communications and cross-functional leadership skills, with specific experience with digital sales and revenue initiatives using the Internet.
