The Leasing Manager, under the direction of the Property Manager, is responsible for managing the sales process from start to finish; presenting our apartments and community in a compelling way, overcoming objections, building relationships and creating excitement, as well as the overall marketing and leasing plan for the assigned property. They will promote the positive image of the apartment community, assist management with resident retention, and supervise the leasing team in maximizing occupancy. A successful Leasing Manager must demonstrate strong sales, customer service, organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills.


  1. Train, motivate and lead leasing team to reach leasing goals and achieve optimum occupancy at the property.
  2. Manage all leads from Yardi or property-specific lead management software.
  3. Monitor all ad sources to ensure they are updated and correct.
  4. Monitor and update Social Media websites.
  5. Develop a thorough knowledge of the local market and competitive (comp.) set. Monitor and direct leasing activities.
  6. Promote a quality living environment for residents and positive work environment for team members.
  7. Communicate effectively with the Property Manager and/or upper management to keep them apprised of rental activities.
  8. Perform regular inspections of market ready apartments to ensure “pristine” condition.
  9. Troubleshoot and generate creative ideas to increase the desirability of the property and apartments and maximize closing ratios.


  • 3-5 years of successful apartment leasing experience or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of Yardi Software, Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of Fair Housing requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with customers and teammates in a professional manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and ability to author reports.
  • Leadership and supervision of the leasing team to ensure quality results in their work.
  • Flexibility in work schedule. Position requires 2-3 weekends per month with time off during the week. Also must be able to work extended evening hours
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs.
