Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an Outreach Athletic Trainer who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. Qualified candidates will possess:
-Current Maryland athletic training license
-Current NATABOC certification
-Current BLS for Allied Health Professional Certification Required
-Demonstrated competence in treatments, appropriate documentation and meeting productivity requirements
-Strong customer service skills & ability to handle a multi-task environment
-Capacity to make critical judgments
-Basic PC skills such as Windows NT, and Microsoft Word

Responsibilities:
- Physician extending with PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation/Sports Medicine) board licensed physician
-Attendance at athletic games and practices & coordination of outside care and treatments
-Education of athletic injuries and conditions & evaluation of chronic athletic injuries/conditions
-Instruction of rehabilitation exercises & supervision of athletes' return to activity
-Application of protective and prophylactic devices
-On-field assessment of acute athletic injuries
-Advise athletes on proper use of equipment
-Education of athletes on nutritional aspects of performance
-Coordination/Activation of Emergency Action Plan
-Accurate documentation of all daily treatments, injuries, and referrals

*Part-time 32 hours/week:

Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm physician extending hours -
  • Working with Sports Med. physician taking vitals, recording injury history, concussion documentation, and teaching exercises.
  • Occasional Saturdays, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Remaining 12 hours/week providing Athletic Trainer coverage at events:
*Event coverage at any one of our 13 schools
: Clarksburg HS; Northwest HS; Watkins Mill HS; Poolesville HS; Winston Churchill HS; Wheaton HS; Albert Einstein HS; John F. Kennedy HS; Wootton HS; Richard Montgomery HS; Rockville HS; Spring
