Position Summary: 

In the Office of Conference and Events, this position supports the AV requirements for all internal and external customer events within the Conference and Events Department (CES). Daily tasks include setting up, breaking down, operating audio-visual equipment, and maintaining AV inventory by providing regular systems tests. Other duties include attendance at CES meetings to address each event’s AV needs. Job applicants must be able to cope with pressure, frequent lifting of AV equipment, and a dynamic work schedule. Early morning, late evening and weekend shifts are required frequently. Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with a diverse clientele, determining work priorities and adjusting to last-minute changes are additional requirements. The successful candidate should have thorough knowledge and skills in various projection systems, video playback equipment, video cameras, and audio components.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience
●    High School Diploma or GED AND 
●    Three years of experience in the operation of multi-user computers and peripheral equipment. 

Preferences:
●    3+ years in Hotel or AV Staging 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

●    Thorough knowledge and skills in setting up and operating various audiovisual control and projection systems, video playback equipment, digital video cameras, and various audio components
●    Strong working knowledge and experience in repairing various AV systems
●    Strong troubleshooting skills, technical understanding and attention to detail
●    Ability to analyze problems and select corrective action
●    Ability to communicate effectively in oral and writing formats with internal and external clients
●    Previous audio-visual experience in hotel/conference center or in a university setting preferred

Additional Certifications:

●    CTS Certification desired but not needed

Physical Demands:
●    Must be able to cope with pressure.
●    Frequent lifting of AV equipment (50+ pounds).
●    Required to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
