Mental Health America (MHA) is looking for a Marketing & Outreach Manager for its office in Alexandria, VA. We are considering a broad range of candidates for this position, with experience from 2-5 years preferred. MHA believes we must address mental illness before Stage 4. We promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention for all, early identification and intervention for those at risk, integrated health, behavioral health and other services for those who need them, and recovery as a goal.

The Marketing and Outreach Manager will work with the Associate Vice President of Partnerships and Community Outreach to promote MHA programs and initiatives.

 Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the success of the Associate Membership program, which allows individuals and organizations who align with MHA’s mission to support MHA financially and engage with a broader network
  • Recruit, retain, communicate with, and provide benefits to associate members
  • Grow the number of associate members through research, prospecting, and outreach
  • Assist with the marketing of other MHA programs (such as workplace mental health and peer credentialing) to individuals and organizations
  • Network and follow up with event participants to increase engagement with Mental Health America
  • Identify, manage, staff, and host outreach events at health fairs and similar events
  • Manage volunteer program by recruiting volunteers, maintaining volunteer records, and supporting volunteers both onsite and on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with activity programming for partnership activities
  • Create marketing collateral for various MHA programs
  • Manage publications and merchandise inventory, fulfillment, invoicing, and accounts receivable
  • Develop new products for MHA store as required
  • Provide general support for marketing and engagement for MHA

  • Passionate about mental health issues
  • Able to remain positive and excited after extended hours of exhibiting
  • Detail oriented in tracking sales and membership roles
