For me, that's a big breath of fresh air."- Sunrise LeaderAt Sunrise, our Controller is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the community's accounting functions and accounting team members in accordance with federal, state and local standards and regulations and Sunrise Senior Living policies to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:- Accounts payable- Accounts receivable -Cash control and fixed asset processing- Maintaining proper documentation on all financial transactions of the community- Prepares financial analysis for the Executive Director and Regional Leadership- Reconciles the community's trial balance each month and ensures the community is maintaining financial internal business controls.Qualifications:We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual for the position of Controller / Business Manager at out Assisted Living / Long Term Care facility in Rockville MD. Must be self-starter who will be committed to maintaining processes and coaching Department Managers in compliance with Corporate Systems, managing individual department budgets and support with issues related to financial operations.The position will break out as approximately 30% pure accounting to include AP processing, month end P&L reporting, selected balance sheet analysis and bank reconciliations. 40% will be billing and related issues, cash posting to AR accounts and collections. 30% will involve direct contact with Resident family members on financial topics and collaborations with Sales and the Clinical Team on census and billing.The successful candidate will be maintain census in our billing system, Point Click Care, on a daily basis.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate hands on experience with Medicare Part A & B billing, HMO billing and Medicaid in a Long Term Care setting for the State of Maryland.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related experience- At least 2 years supervisory and management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management and daily operations supervision with exposureto accounting services within a senior housing and/or healthcare environment- Ability to handle multiple priorities- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations- Competent in organizational, time management skills- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills- Exceptional computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applicationsSunrise maintains a drug-free work environment and all offers of employment with Sunrise are conditioned on submitting to and successfully completing and passing a drug and alcohol test.QualificationsSunrise Senior Living has championed quality of life in senior care for more than 30 years.
