Description We are a lead sensor system integrator focused on providing advanced sensor technology to address C4ISR mission requirements. We provide a broad range of technical support across two divisions. Our Technical Services Division provides research, development, analysis and field service support to advance the architecting and fielding of advanced sensor systems for ISR and Force Protection missions. Our System Division provides the engineering design, development of complete and integrated solutions from hardware to software for sensors, systems and command and control architecture. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: We are seeking a well-qualified Systems Engineer with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team of talented, diverse individuals in Lorton, VA. You would support the full system life-cycle design, development, integration, test, and delivery of leading-edge Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions for multiple DoD customers. A successful candidate has a diverse set of hardware and software engineering skills with experience related to airborne and/or ground based sensor payloads for military vehicles as well as soldier-mounted systems and will be responsible for the following job functions: Supports requirements development of complex projects. Supports test and evaluation planning for verification and validation of requirements. Performs requirements traceability on our products. Manages project requirements in DOORS. Provides system engineering support and advice for system development and integration on new platforms when required. Evaluates project initiatives, designs, and design changes at the system level for cost/schedule/performance impacts. Interfaces with all aspects of the team to resolve system engineering issues and actions. Individual will work under only general direction within a team environment to determine and develop approaches to solutions. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related Engineering discipline is a plus. Experience with imaging optics and electro-optical devices is a plus. Experience with Risk Management is a plus. Knowledge of Reliability Engineering is a plus. SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to obtain security clearance required; active clearance a plus. Experience with supporting the design, development, and review of systems engineering design artifacts, such as Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), requirements specifications, requirements traceability matrices, interface design, system design documentation, system performance analysis, and technical writing. Minimum 2 years of experience using requirements management software such as DOORS. Minimum 3 years demonstrated strong performance as an engineer in the defense industry. Experience with working directly with end users to discover and solidify requirements, and to exchange feedback on implemented and potential functionality. Broad knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, including Requirements Development, Verification, Validation, and Traceability.
