Washington, DC-area based Fortune 500 publicly-traded building materials distribution company is conducting a search for an Assistant General Counsel for its Bethesda, Maryland-based General Counsel's Office. The Company has 500+ locations throughout the United States and Canada, approximately 7,500 employees, and annual revenues in excess of $7.0 billion. The Assistant General Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel and will assist in the supervision of the Company's 6-person legal department. The successful candidate will participate in all of the Company's legal affairs including contracting, labor and employment, acquisitions, SEC reporting, corporate governance, commercial leasing, and litigation and claims management.Candidates should have excellent academic credentials and at least eight years of legal experience, with litigation and major law firm experience preferred.
