Position Summary: The Senior BI Developer will work with project teams to develop and implement database design and applications to accommodate a variety of institutional needs. This is an opportunity to contribute to a project at the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) by working with the Real Estate Reporting Team, which leads enterprise-wide reporting. The Senior BI Developer will provide effective and efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) programming capabilities to support the day-to-day operation of the organizations data strategy as directed by senior leadership at USACE. This role will work with project teams in an effort to combine multiple Government databases into a consolidated data warehouse, which will then report from to accommodate a variety of institutional needs. The Senior BI Developer will identify and define data elements, informational needs, storage requirements, logical relationships, flow, manipulation, and database standards and security policies. The Senior BI developer will also participate in the design and build of modern data products that comprise of raw data stores (data lakes) and cleansed data repositories, populated by batch or streaming data pipelines. Design, develop, maintain, and improve SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Crystal Reporting solutions. Design, develop, maintain, and improve SAP BOBJ Web Intelligence (WebI) based Reporting solutions. Design, develop, maintain, and improve SAP BOBJ Dashboard based Reporting solutions. Design, develop, maintain, and improve Qlik Sense Data Visualizations. Create and execute SQL data queries and conduct analysis to meet customer expectations and conduct complex analyses sing Excel Analyze, design, develop, test, document, and implement ETL solutions. Support ETL tool administration, perform environment tuning and maintenance, and providing general support to user population. Create and execute data queries and conduct analysis to meet customer expectations. Deliver valuable information via reports and visualizations. Translate functional requirements to technical specifications. Maintain and support data analytics platforms. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems and data sources. Create and maintain technical documentation. Develop analytics and reporting solutions which may include ad-hoc as well as standardized reporting and interactive dashboards. Design and documentation of logical and physical analytical data models for transactional and analytical databases. Source system analysis, data profiling and creating design documents and Source2Target mappings for the development teams to implement Assists with large-scale data migrations across the enterprise as well as with optimization and scalability efforts. Ensures compliance with customer and VerticalApps policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards. Leadership: Provide innovative solutions to complex functional problems that impact customer success. Lead the completion of tasks and guide less experienced team members. Lead and participate in Technical Challenges contributing towards the growth of the company. Support business development activities including proposal activities. Create and Implement development standards and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technical subject 4+ years' practical experience implementing ETL or developing and delivering BI solutions. Project-based experience with the phases of a project and SDLC methodologies. Understanding of various computing environments including client-server and internet platforms. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: In-depth knowledge of BI technologies (eg Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, Oracle, SAP Business Objects). Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services. Ability to integrate data from disparate data sources within an organization. Knowledge of developments in data architecture, data modeling, data design and related processes. A strong grasp of the current and emerging developments in BI solutions. Strong understanding of metadata management and alignment of information with user's needs. Strong user-orientation, and ability to work well with a team of diverse staff in a collaborative environment. Ability to effectively prioritize, adjust quickly to changing priorities, and execute while under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflict. Strong written and oral communication skills, including proven ability to communicate and explain complex issues in clear, concise and persuasive language. In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework. Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
