GDIT is actively pursuing an immediate opportunity to continue the modernization of the Provider Enrollment Chain of Ownership System (PECOS) for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). If awarded, GDIT will implement CMSs new vision of PECOS modernization efforts, with a heavy emphasis on ensuring that the end-user experience for provider and administrators meets the high standards set by Medicare, Americas most popular healthcare brand. GDIT is seeking truly knowledgeable talent that understand the provider lifecycle, are knowledgeable with the data structures and are highly skilled in their technical execution.Position DescriptionThe Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing large scale data models. In addition, the Data Modeler will be responsible for gathering, understanding, documenting, and communicating the data requirements needed to perform business processes. The Data Modeler will also help to support the delivery of products or components that he or she designed. The Data Modeler will work within a Scrum team to support various technical aspects of the PECOS 2.0 project. The selected candidate will be expected to pick up multiple tasks and to support workload when demand spikes. He or she must be able to consistently deliver while meeting expectations for quality and deadlines. The candidate must be technically adept and well organized with strong communication and analytical skills. The candidate must possess experience with, and an understanding of, all functional layers of large data systems. (Past experience with enterprise systems or big data warehouses is preferred.)Roles and ResponsibilitiesWork within a Scrum team to for gather, understand, document, and communicate the data requirements needed to perform business processesSupport new and existing development projects through the completion of logical data and process modeling activities Create and Maintain entity, logical, and physical data models, especially for an OLTP applicationDevelop, document, and maintain technical solutions and design artifacts for various system components Prepare high quality design documentation, including visual diagrams and processing flows Maintain and updates Database Design Documents (DDDs), Data Dictionary, Data Flow Diagrams.Participate in data governance processes related to data quality and information managementIdentifies and recommends potential system improvements for the existing processing and data flows Define data sources and data models; documents actual data flows, data exchanges, system interconnections, and systems interfaces; ensures that these are aligned with the enterprise data model Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience Required Education, Experience, and SkillsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience7 years of experience with data modeling, data mapping, logical and physical models, data dictionary creation and DDL scripts. Defining and implementing conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Defining Data Sources and data models, documenting actual data flows, data exchanges, and systems interconnections and interfaces.
