The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Bethesda, Maryland area, the company offering this challenging short-term temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.Key responsibilities- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments- Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases- Knowledgeable of ERP systems- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills- Vow to meet business deadlines- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics- Spreadsheet and database capabilities- Treasury experience required- Proficiency in Treasury Activities- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)- Recent and relevant accounting experience- High attention to detail- Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomesIf you are interested, email your resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resume]Accountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
