Summary

This position will serve as Deputy Director of IT Operations and Services for FirstNet and is responsible for the IT infrastructure operations and related services within the organization. The incumbent will report directly to the FirstNet Executive Director IT Operations and Services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the oversight, assessment, and evaluation of the design, development, and implementation, and will oversee the administration of FirstNet? s IT Security.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on matters pertaining to computer, network and communications security, information, and cyber security.
  • Manage an information technology environment that requires fiscal management and analytical skills.
  • Oversee installation, implementations, configurations and support of IT operations infrastructure components.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the ZP- IV (GS-13/14) grade level if you possess the following four competencies:

1. Attention to Details: ensure compliance with technical infrastructure architecture standards, processes, principles, and methodologies.
2. Customer Service: coordinate with program managers, financial management, and budget staff determining and acquiring project resources.
3. Oral Communication: present status, progress, issues analyses, information reports, and presentations.
4. Problem Solving: develop recommendations for resolution of complex program, project, technical, and resource issues.

You qualify for the ZP- IV (GS-13/14) grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the ZP- III (GS- 11/12) grade level in the Federal government (obtained in either the public or private sectors), performing the following duties:

1. Conducting problem solving and trend analysis necessary to provide comprehensive end user support for all personnel.
2. Managing a shared infrastructure that incorporates both on premise and cloud-based technologies and IT services.
3. Managing information technology systems and services.
4. Providing technical supervision over a workload of mission-supporting scientific and engineering work.
