Responsibilities

As a Assistant Inspector General Hotline Investigator you will be responsible for the following duties:

Knowledge of Federal laws, DoD and DCSA policies and directives in order to interpret guidance and conduct sensitive reviews and inspections.

Knowledge of administrative inquiry process and procedures to define issues and develop required information for complex investigations of alleged employee misconduct.

Knowledge of inspection/assessment techniques and procedures as well as knowledge of internal controls and evaluation of controls.

The work requires knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of a DCSA professional employee that has been supplemented either by:
(a) Skill gained through job experience to permit independent performance of recurring assignments;
(b) Expanded professional knowledge gained through relevant graduate study or experience, which has provided skill in carrying out assignments, operations, and procedures in the occupation that are significantly more difficult and complex than those covered by the preceding degree level; or
(c) Practical knowledge of a wide range of DCSA disciplines and practices similar to a narrow area of a professional field and skill in applying this knowledge to such assignments as the design and planning of difficult, but well precedented projects.

The work requires knowledge of a wide range of government security and/or intelligence concepts, principles, and practices, such as would be gained through extended graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments.

Ability to perform legal and regulatory research using the Internet and other pertinent sources. Familiarity with computer systems and various programs, e.g. Word and Excel.Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to a broad range of employees at all levels. Ability to convincingly communicate complicated, sensitive, or controversial findings or proposals

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience required for this position is:
Highly skilled in performing a variety of IG functions, tracking progress, closure and disposition of case files, proficient planning, providing investigative support or conducting complex inquiries, to include: interviewing complainants, gathering and analyzing relevant evidence, and evaluating inquiries tasked to other components or echelons; experience supporting, conducting, or performing oversight of inquiries into allegations of misconduct or improprieties affecting organizational programs and operations; and experience prioritizing investigative workloads. This includes all aspects of supporting or conducting fieldwork and drafting written reports that contain thorough analyses and adhere to the Quality Standards for Investigations as established by the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE).

DCSA, as a newly designated Defense Agency is undergoing a multi-year transformation that includes a significant expansion of predecessor agencies' authorities and responsibilities. Mission accretion and associated growth in personnel and resources requires deliberate coordination and planning across operations and support activities to achieve effective outcomes while simultaneously establishing and integrating new activities, initiatives and projects. The new organization will be comprised of nearly 13,000 government and contractor personnel operation throughout the United States and overseas supporting stakeholders across the federal government.
