Technical Refresh (NMMES-TR) contract. Duties andResponsibilities: Workclosely with functional leads, DBAs, and developers to identify and solveissues; design; and document solutions during implementation and operation of applicationsthroughout the lifecycle of system development and sustainmentDesktopsystem management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security,Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administrationrelated functions.Providesupport for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systemsProvidesupport to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitor and problemresolve all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.ProvideTier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problemProvidesupport for the escalation and communication of status to agency management andinternal customersProvidesupport for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved inthe resolution processInstall/loadoperating system and application softwareIsolateand resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, theoperating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or anycombination thereofTroubleshoot,maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementoperating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceIntegratenew technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migrationof corporate systems.Executionof on-site, on the floor, technical and system administration supportSupportrequirements for managing installation, configuration and maintenance ofUnix/Windows workstations and servers, including Web servers, network attachedstorage devices, and stored data in support of business processing requirementsPerformsoftware installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows operating systems andlayered software packages and maintains them in accordance with establishedpolicies, procedures and service level agreementsEvaluateand install software/hardware patches Resolvesoftware related problems associated with COTS/GOTS productsAssistwith achieving optimum performance and availability standards throughimplementing appropriate technical solutions.Attendweekly meetings and provide weekly status reports.Resolvea wide range of system issues, troubleshoot software, hardware, diagnosis ofnetwork issues, and address trouble tickets and service tasks across all tieredlevels.AttendAuthorized Outage, Firewall Change Request, and Root Cause Analysis Boards asrequiredCreateand follow procedures to maintain and manage multiple linked databasesincluding security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk dataimport/exports.Conductroutine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center equipmentCommunicate/coordinatescheduled preventive maintenance windows with potentially impacted customersCollaborateand contribute to the development, administration, and testing of backup andrecovery plansEnsuresystems are secure to STIG guidelines by utilizing tools such as Retina andHBSSCoordinatewith the Technical Lead, manage IT system infrastructure and any processesrelated to these systemsSystemsadministration of desktop and server systems connected Supportthe deployment and evaluations of new technical solutions, products, and/orstandards in support of functions strategy and operations under limitedsupervision for NMMES-TRMaintainoperational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs)Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovationOtherduties as assigned MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.) Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years relevant experience required OR Associate?s Degree and 8+ years relevant experience may be used in lieu of degree OR 10+ years relevant experience may be used in lieu of degreeYears of relevant work experience include:UNIX,Windows, and/or Storage administrationWorkingwith trouble reporting and tracking systems such as REMEDYCompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 Level II certification equivalent Secret Clearance required Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities: Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows, Linux, and Solaris systemsAbility to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Prefer skills in one or more of the following: Window Server, Red Hat, IRIX, Solaris, Sybase, Informix, SQLGeneral knowledge of database administration, network administration and possess network configuration management skills.Must be an effectivecommunicator at multiple levels with the ability to grasp system concepts andcommunicate their applications.Must be capable of quicklylearning new systems and associated software applications for proficientexecution of tasks.Must be capable ofmanaging multiple projects with time related constraints in a fast-pacedcontract manufacturing environment.Must be able to speakeffectively before groups of internal and/or external customers or employees.
