Series assigned to individual positions under this job will be determined based on the selectee's paramount qualifications at the time of selection.** As the premier scientific expert on Cyber Resiliency, the incumbent will conduct and manage cutting-edge research in the area with appropriate teams within CCDC ARL and across Army, leading to next generation technologies that exhibit a great degree of resiliency, minimizing the damage and degradation of military functions inflicted by a sophisticated cyber threat, and quickly restoring their functional performance pertinent to the Army mission. The incumbent of this position will be assigned to the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, Army Research Laboratory; the position is located in the Computational and Information Sciences Directorate, and is responsible for broad theoretical and experimental programs of basic and applied research necessary to underpin technical capabilities leading to resiliency of cyber systems in adversarial environment. The senior research scientist is a leading expert in cyber resiliency, who actively performs research and directs team efforts contributing to fundamental science, to achieve technologies that exhibit a great degree of resiliency, that is the ability to both minimize the damage and degradation of military functions inflicted by a sophisticated cyber threat, but equally importantly are able to quickly reconstitute their functional performance in a way that limits adverse impacts on the pertinent Army mission. Incumbent demonstrates expertise as an independent principal investigator/researcher, leading complex programs of research, scientific leadership/mentoring of other scientist, and close collaboration with scientists of various disciplines within DoD, academia, and industry.
