This position is responsible for overseeing functions that include: account management, configuring, optimizing network servers, routers, and switches; diagnosing and resolving network problems; installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As an Supervisory IT Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSPT) at the GS-2210-13, some of your typical work assignments may include: - Supervises and directs on-site and remote staff in the planning, designing, and operation of complex IT systems in a variety of operating environments. - Resolves problems and provides end user support relative to all aspects of the infrastructure systems under the Office of Disaster Assistant operational control. - Provides effective and efficient troubleshooting and technical expertise to the ODA organization at all operating levels. - Resolves extremely difficult and complex issues effectively and efficiently by analyzing, diagnosing, and documenting problems to include hardware and software interface with installed infrastructure. - Consults with IT staff, functional managers, and customers to determine the effect of stated requirements on end user applications and the impact on the current operating environment in accordance with SBA and ODA IT standards. - Ensures the appropriate configuration, maintenance, and administration of the operating environment in support of Cloud and on-premise systems, applications, storage, database, and maintains security compliance. IMPORTANT NOTES: - This is a **Cadre** position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time seasonal work schedule. Although highly unlikely, depending on the level of disaster activity, you may be placed in a non-duty status if there is insufficient work. This would be extremely unusual and has not occurred in numerous years. - Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required. - The TSSC position is located in the business area of Herndon, VA. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate: *Supervising or leading IT projects or the day-to-day operations of an IT staff; *Interpreting and applying IT security controls for an organization; *Participating in the implementation of a technology refresh plan for an organization; and *Communicating orally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders on a variety of complex IT related matters.
