Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The CADM Executive Director is responsible or the day-to-day management of CADM. This involves the oversight of CADM's full-time staff as well as coordination and cooperation with offices throughout the campus, including those that help to manage CADM's grants and budget, the Office of the Vice President of Research, the Office of the Dean in the Colleges of Behavioral and Social Sciences, the Office of the Dean in the iSchool, and the Graduate School. The Executive Director works closely with the Director of CADM to develop and implement strategies for CADM to achieve its long-term goals as a university-based research and education center. This involves identifying and developing relationships with key partners for the center and representing CADM, its mission, and its research projects and education programs at meetings, workshops, presentations, and briefings with audiences from the private sector, academia, the non-profit sector, and the business community, as well as public officials at the Federal, state, and local levels. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that CADM meets reporting requirements of all of its awards, as well as responding to ad hoc request for information and updates. The Executive Director is also responsible for ensuring that the center's short and long- term financial situation is strong and sustainable. It is the responsibility of the Executive Director to ensure that CADM researchers, faculty, students and alumni as well as collaborators spread all around the world are kept informed about relevant developments and operations. In addition, the Executive Director develops the programming of the annual meeting of all CADM researchers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor Degree Experience: 5-8 years in education administration Preferences: - Experience in administration of academic research programs entrepreneurial education programs highly desirable - Research administration - Familiarity with UMD HR policies and systems - Familiarity with UMD accounting systems - Familiarity with UMD education administration - Leadership in entrepreneurial programs or companies - Track record of securing funding Additional Certifications: Additional Information: Job Risks Not Applicable to This Position Physical Demands Must be able to move about campus and attend recruitment events and conferences on and off of campus.
