Vice President of Human Resources Office: Reston, VA (HQ) Location: Reston, VA Job ID: S19-0297 START YOUR APPLICATION JOB TITLE: Vice President of Human Resources PROJECT OVERVIEW: WBB is looking for a Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) to direct and oversee the company's HR plans in ways that support our people, mission, overall strategy and potential merger and acquisition activity. This position has high accountability and reports directly to the CEO. We want candidates who are leaders and strategic thinkers, effective people managers and problem-solvers. The goal is to promote the role of strategic HR and ensure the long-term success of both HR and the organization as a whole. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Create and implement an Human Capital Strategic Plan to translate WBB's mission, values, structure and goals into operational goals and objectives that span across the company. * Design and implement training/professional development plan. * Manage the performance management process, evaluate the suitability and consistency of application, and ensure it is linked to career development and succession planning. * Review compensation and job structures including position evaluation and classification; review of job grades and salary ranges * Strong benefit knowledge of plan design and cost share to develop competitive package. Oversight of negotiations of employee benefits programs to include 401k. Ensure implementation of equitable benefits and insurance plans. * Provide direct counsel to senior management and staff on all HR issues including grievances, dispute resolution and terminations. Work with outside counsel when appropriate. * Ensure coherence and compliance across the HR discipline. This will include overseeing compliance with US Federal and State employment laws; OFCCP, Benefits, and overseeing data integrity and confidentiality of the HRIS and other personnel information. * Lead and direct the work of the Human Resources staff to include Recruiting, Security and Office Management. * Develop and manage the department's budget. * Collaborate with management team to craft the company's vision and mission * Decide and act on initiatives for equal opportunity, diversity etc. * Re-engineer processes to ensure maximum efficiency * Participate in M&A activity * Prepare reports for the CEO using business metrics and KPIs REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Security Clearance: * BS/BA in business, HR, Social Sciences or related field; MS/MA/MBA is preferable * Proven experience as VP of HR or other senior HR role * Prior hands on experience with M&A activity * Experience in strategic planning and implementation * Deep knowledge of HR functions (talent management, recruitment, HRIS, Benefits Administration) * Ability to use metrics and analytics * Knowledge of local and international labor law * Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems * Aptitude in communicating and public speaking * Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: * SHRM-SCP or SPHR Certification is desirable WORK LOCATION: Reston, VA TRAVEL: 5% KEY WORDS: WBB is a technical and management consulting company that provides innovative products and services that solve government and commercial customer's toughest problems.
