The people and their expertise are the main source of differentiation for Company therefore, this dynamic and strategic role will serve as a key member of Company's leadership team and will be accountable for all HR activities and building a sustainable infrastructure and organizational capability. Reporting to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Cary Dunston, the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer will be an authentic business leader with a central role in continuing to build and shape the organizational capability and culture, located in Winchester, Virginia.This individual will partner with senior leaders to provide consultative HR support and counsel, align business needs to drive the human capital strategy and determine how to best use their talent-base to innovate and support the business objectives. The HR Leader will design and implement the longer-term vision, mission and brand of HR for the organization. The primary driver for this role is to serve as a true servant leader to move the organization to achieve the 2025 Vision. The 2025 Vision has been crafted to empower, unite and equalize all employees throughout the company with a foundation that continues to rely on the company's core values of Caring and Candor, Dignity and Respect, and Responsibility and Accountability. The CHRO will serve as a key leader in our focus on creating an inclusive environment where all employees gain a better understanding of how truly interconnected we are through our own stories. The connections and relationships formed will create the energy to move the company forward to a level never before imagined. Responsibilities will be broad based and will include development and subsequent implementation of innovative programs, strategies and solutions to support the growth and cultural change that the business is driving related to their new 2025 Vision. Therefore, it will be imperative this person provide a strategic human resource overlay to the short and long-term business strategy to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, organizational effectiveness, boldly driven business results, prudent risk taking, operational excellence, effective communications and optimal utilization of cross-business synergies to capture true competitive advantage in the marketplace. This person is an impact-player, makes decisions now and will thrive in the culture that is being created and shaped.This is a prime change-driver role for an organizationally astute and proactive leader who not only wants to shape the culture of an established yet growing business, but serve as the enduring HR leader as the company realizes the benefit of the transformational organizational effectiveness work. They will realize the necessity of building a great foundation before transformational work can begin. This confident leader will establish a strong partner relationship with Cary Dunston and the senior leadership team.The focus of this role is on achieving results that are aligned with the larger picture of Company and its strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this role. Because environmental and organizational conditions change rapidly, the work involves innovation and creativity in generating ideas for quick response. The ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions is critical. This position requires the ability to act independently, a sense of urgency and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges. Key Accountabilities and Qualifications * Effectively scaling hiring for growth and then elevating levels of engagement for retention and contribution. Partner with leadership team to understand business strategy and define/align HR priorities to ensure achievement of business goals. * Develop solutions with leadership team on organizational issues including organizational design and structure, organizational effectiveness, cultural assessment and gap analysis to support the business goals. * Responsible for change management by developing and implementing strategies and frameworks that impact people programs, culture, organizational process, structure and technology. * Drive workforce planning efforts in alignment with short and long-term business needs. * Benchmark (internally and externally) total reward practices to ensure market-driven pay and internal equity. * Create strategies to grow, develop and retain outstanding employees and provide strategic direction in the processes and practices associated with the attraction, development and retention of talent. * Provide a holistic approach to the company's key visionary element of creating an inclusive and interconnected environmental where individuality is recognized and celebrated. * Develop and execute the annual HR operating plan. Implement metrics, run reports and analytics to measure value, efficiency and effectiveness of processes. * Maintain a working knowledge of relevant regulatory issues, professional or industry substantive codes and federal and state laws and regulations including a working knowledge of relevant ethics issues and ethics conflict-resolution techniques. * Broad business acumen. Track record of driving results through execution of HR initiatives and able to speak to key HR and business metrics, including metrics driven personally as well as those driven through the performance of the broader HR team. * Proven capability with a full complement of human resources including talent management, leadership development, compensation and benefits, and HR information systems. * Strong strategic and analytical skills. Able to assess processes and outcomes by establishing solid metrics of performance. * Served as part of a world-class organization, understanding dimensions of a healthy, vibrant culture. Will know how to drive engagement and continue to shape culture. * A servant leader who can quickly establish themselves as a valued member of the business leadership team. * Able to effectively balance competing priorities to fulfill all internal customer expectations. * Demonstrated effort to prioritize, develop and recommend diversity initiatives and programs to allow the corporation to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels of the organization. * Bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration or equivalent experience.
