The American Academy of Actuaries (Academy) is seeking a public policy analyst to oversee a portfolio of issues related to risk management and financial reporting for insurance at the federal, state, and international levels. The Risk Management and Financial Reporting Policy Analyst will: Act as the lead staff representative interacting with public policymakers on issues of key concern to Academy in the area of financial services reforms and accounting policy affecting insurance. Build relationships with policymakers and regulators to expand the Academy's role in financial services policy debates. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC); federal entities having insurance oversight (the Department of Treasury the Federal Reserve Board; and relevant congressional committees of jurisdiction, among others. Monitor and facilitate Academy interactions with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors among others. Proactively identify initiatives to increase the effectiveness of the Academy's risk management and financial reporting public policy efforts. Assist in the development of the Risk Management and Financial Reporting Practice Council statements, comment letters, issue briefs, and other public policy content. PandoLogic.
