JOB SUMMARY: The Individual Gift Officer (IGO) serves as a member of the Leadership Gifts Team and drives fundraising efforts to meet the Agency's philanthropic goals. The position is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of mid-major and planned gift prospects with the primary goal of moving prospective major gift donors through a management cycle from mid-level to major giving. The IGO will dedicate 50% of their time moving qualified prospects through major gift cultivation and developing and coordinating strategies to meet and exceed fundraising goals and performance metrics. This role is term limited for 2 years. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Builds internal relationships and partnerships with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington (CCADW) programs; identifies priorities to effectively connect donor candidates to CCADW content. Communicates the mission in a compelling manner and successfully matches donor's philanthropic interests to funding needs. * In collaboration with donor services and the individual giving team, leverages wealth screenings to develop prospect research and move a portfolio of 150 donors and prospects through high quality, strategic contacts and face-to-face visits to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, successfully closing gifts transitioning from the mid-level to major gift level ($10,000+). * Solicits mid-level and major gifts, contributing to revenue generation for the organization (both restricted and unrestricted) including campaigns, events and program initiatives. * Implements a strategy of comprehensive cultivation and stewardship for young professionals through a sustainer campaign and donors who give more than $8,500 annually and identifies new and lapsed donors as that have high potential for giving at these points of entry. * Works collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development staff, and agency leadership to cultivate and solicits donors for strategic priorities. * Works cooperatively with all fundraising officers to help them and the department to meet overall financial goals. Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field required. * Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in mid-major gift fundraising and developing complex fundraising strategies. * Five (5) years of experience in developing, managing multiple projects and events, and implementing strategic program goals. SKILLS and COMPETENCIES: * Strong organizational, interpersonal, listening, writing and communication skills. * Knowledge of fundraising, membership and mid-level strategies and practices. * Knowledge of developing and stewarding membership programs. * Intermediate to advanced skill level using a CRM database, preferably Raiser's Edge. * Ability to understand the process of administering budgets including the ability to develop short and long-term projections. #CB Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.Please view Equal Employment Opportunity Posters provided by OFCCP here.The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
