PURPOSETo ensure the proper recording and reporting of payroll/financial transactions with the proper internal control systems and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to effectively manage the Distribution operations toward profitable business results. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Accountable and Reports to: Accounting ManagerPRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:*Prepare/review/distribute weekly DC Operating Expense Reports and Corporate Financial Reporting*Supervision of payroll clerical staff to include contractual interpretations*Identify/coordinate/resolve Work Brain/People Soft time clock/server issues*Review P&L accounts weekly activity.*Work with Inventory Control, Procurement, and Corporate Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and vendor correspondence.*Review account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness*Prepare journal entries to ensure accurate account balances for period end financial reporting*Assist Accounting Manager/Controller in Financial Reporting and Analysis process*Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processSECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: (These are considered occasional in nature)*Perform special projects as requested by the Accounting Manager/Controller.*Provide timely and accurate backup to internal/external auditors*Meet SOX deadlines to validate that processes in place are being utilized to ensure accuracy and integrity of the information being reported SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB: (Physical demands outlined on attached PAR sheet)*Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, and/or equivalent work experience in accounting.*Possess ability to analyze, interpret and report financial data*Possess good communication skills, both oral and written*Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone*Strong PC skills required*Possess supervisory skills and ability to work with and through others to achieve desired resultsWORKING CONDITIONS:*Most work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment.*May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
