Robert Half Government - the staffing division of Protiviti Government Services is currently hiring on a Software Engineer 5 for one our government clients. The Software Engineer 5 needs to have about 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer 5 with an Active Secret clearance. The Software Engineer 5 needs to have a good understanding of developing Web applications across all layers, such as UI, API, and Data. The Software Engineer 5 needs to follow Agile development best practices as well as have experience with a DevOps culture. This position requires an Active Secret clearance prior to start. RESPONSIBILITIES Have a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, and hands-on experiences working at consumer-facing and scalable Web application. Have good understanding of developing Web application across all layers (UI, API, Data). Follow Agile development best practices. Be part of building Agile team embracing microservice architecture and DevOps culture. Have results driven personality, high enthusiasm, energy, and confidence.REQUIREMENTS BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field equivalent experience considered. Relevant industry academia experience in software engineeringarchitecture field. Strong programming knowledge in Java and JavaScript and at least one more programming language (eg Node.js, Go, Python, .NET). Front-end development skills using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries. Good database skills in SQLnoSQL. Experience working on agile software development teams which function in a DevOps environment, including experience in dev, build, QA, release, and support of your own software. Ability to work as an effective member of the team. DESIRED SKILLS Experience working with Service Oriented Architectures, microservices, and event driven architectures. Successful past delivery of products hosted in public cloud offerings. Working knowledge of container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
