Summary of positiondaily activities AEM is seeking a C.Net Core and SQL ETL Developer to support current and expanding opportunities with education data systems, management, and use projects. The role involves working with state, local education agencies, and early childhood service providers to move data from custom systems to standards-based systems for reporting and data use. The Developer works closely with project managers, business analysists, technical and program team(s), and clients with information technology aspects of project startup, execution, and closeout activities. Work will be done with designated teams to identify, design, and implement solutions for extraction and integration of data in standards-based data stores for the purpose of reporting decision support and analysis. Interested candidates should have extensive experience with the information technology aspects of education data systems and projects including data systems design and development, data standards, interoperability, data warehousing and use. Strong preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate how their experience and background has resulted in meaningful relationships and growth opportunities within education. Additional preference will be given to candidates who not only have technical skill but show effective experience interacting business partners. Basic qualificationsexperience (the required qualifications which are critical to be considered for the position Minimum of five (5) years in an education data system and management related role at a district, state, federal or contractor organization Excellent writtenverbal communication skills including presentations before large groups Well-developed organizational and time management skills Experience with C and .Net Core, particularly around data integration andor data reporting and analysis solutions Strong SQL knowledge working with complex queries and stored procedures Experience with automated code testing Experience and relationships with the local and state education agencies Experience with Ed-Fi, CEDS, andor other education standards a plus Preference for location in the Washington, DC metro area Bachelor s degree Eligibility for a security clearance Desired skillscertifications (any additional skills desired but not required to be considered for the position) Provide remote andor on-site technical assistance to educational stakeholders and grantees Broad knowledge across a range of topics, including data governance, stakeholder engagement, data use, sustainability, linkage of data across state agencies, and collaboration with local education agencies Identify gaps in existing education data management approaches and create innovative solutions for clients and stakeholders Develop, test, and review C.Net Core data processing, integration, and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) code using Entity Framework Create automated unit tests based on test cases Monitor and troubleshoot SQL-based Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) and system performance, including optimization and tuning of data loads Work with business users to understand and document business and technical requirements to drive development Collaborate on the design of physical structure and implementation of database objects Document physical database objects from table, column, index, and view definitions Adhere to data security and protection policies Understand job and activity schedules to promote optimal performance, maximize availability and minimize data latency, and data load duration Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet demands and expectations Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies and share acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet demands and expectations Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and communicate timelines clearly Perform additional duties as assigned AEM is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
