Qualifications
GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have a least one-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience that is in the line of work of this position that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include performing the following types of duties: Preparing, monitoring and updating tracking reports for review by the manager; performing case management; preparing for court presentations; applying knowledge of various laws, court/administrative decisions and interpretation of the rules, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements of the office; preparing a variety of substantial legal documents for review and approval by the attorneys; assisting attorneys with trial preparation; planning, managing, evaluating, administrative and employee resources and operations; developing and coordinating legal support operations and administrative support.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. Responsibilities
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for managing day-to-day activities for the Superior Court Division, General Crimes Section. The General Crimes Section is a large section with multiple sub-units, each with their own support staff, heavy caseloads, and specific responsibilities. Typical work assignments will include:
- Providing on-the-job training for employees in all areas of work;
- Providing oversight planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of litigation support functions and activities across all of the units of General Crimes;
- Consulting with the section chief, unit deputy Chiefs, S.C.D. Liaison & Operations Manager and unit lead paralegals and AUSA's regarding litigation support and technical procedures;
- Providing instructions regarding the technical aspect of handling cases and preparing pleadings for filing in D.C. Superior Court;
- Planning and coordinating work assignments, establishing goals, objectives, procedures and methods for accomplishing work;
- Work to develop and refine the systems used by support staff to support litigation, including but not limited to facilitating improved information technology and evidence management solutions.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to cover daily operations, including by coordinating hiring and retention of support staff.
