Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Police Officer (shift supervisor) at the GG-10 grade level performing Law Enforcement operational duties and exercising full supervisory responsibilities during an assigned shift in one of the police units within Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), N7 Security and Law Enforcement Department.

Responsibilities

  • You will be participate in the planning, scheduling and oversight of assigned shift uninformed police officers (military and civilian)
  • You will maintain law and order within a federal jurisdiction to protect agency facilities.
  • You will engage in the day-to-day operations, 7 day/week, 24-hour/day, maintaining law and order with a federal jurisdiction to protect agency facilities.
  • You will perform the full range of police operational duties assuring compliance with Federal, State, Local municipal laws and ordinances, and agency rules, policies, and regulations to maintain law and order.
  • You will prepare reports of shift activities and other law enforcement related reports, forms, and correspondence as necessary.

  • Must be physically able and skilled in handling of small arms to qualify with pistol, shotgun, and rifle annually.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You may be subject to polygraph examination.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • You must pass all annual sustainment and use of force training.
  • You must pass annual CPR and first aid certification course.
  • You must be mentally stable, have color vision, and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of all emergency operations or the availability of emergency-essential systems.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.


Qualifications

LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING (LET)
Upon appointment or within permitted scheduling must graduate from a Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy or a Department of the Navy-accepted accredited Police Academy.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties such as:
  • Participating in the planning ,scheduling and oversight of assigned shift uniformed police officers (military and civilian).
  • Maintaining law and order within a federal jurisdiction to protect agency facilities.
  • Assigns and ensures work assignments are carried in compliance with organization SOP's polices, current law enforcement techniques and skills.
  • Performing police operational duties assuring compliance with federal, state, local, municipal laws and ordinances and agency rules, policies and regulations to maintain law and order.
  • Preparing reports of shift activities and other law enforcement's related reports, forms, and correspondence as necessary.

PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST (PAT)
Qualified applicants must pass a pre-hire PAT and are required to pass the PAT annually.
This test will be used to screen qualified applicants for entry-level Police Officer positions.
All Police Officers will be required to meet the following minimum physical agility test standards pre-hire and annually:
(a) Run 1.5 miles in 17:30 minutes
(b) Execute 19 push-ups in two minutes.

Duties include prolonged standing, walking, and light lifting.
