Summary

Responsibilities

Major duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead the development of brochures, fliers, and general informational materials to promote Apprenticeship programs and participate in trade and job fairs and make presentations to targeted employers. Develop and foster professional relationships with industry, apprenticeship coordinators (state and local), Department of Labor Apprenticeship and Training Office, Advisory Committees' members, community groups and TAP students.

Conduct research and analyzes the effectiveness of a variety of service delivery models and performance measures to determine the impact on program goals and objectives. Provides editorial assistance to policy and guidance, as well as, facilitates focus groups and work groups for problem identification and resolution.

Provide market research for employment trends in the apprenticeship and licensing and credentialing areas to determine new program needs and directions. Serve as a program analyst providing expert technical assistance, guidance and research capabilities to operational managers and field offices relative to the transition programs.

Serve as VETS representative for those committees at all relevant Apprenticeship meetings and actively seeks new apprenticeship opportunities.

Prepare recommendations for replies to correspondence from members of Congress, Veterans' Organizations, other government agencies, officials, individual veterans, and military spouses. May also provide written materials for the DOL Executive Staff, or may write speeches for use at various conferences, meetings, conventions, etc.

Develop training curricula, procedural and other necessary materials for management and field staff use to implement effective monitoring programs and conducts training sessions for the National Office and field staff and other interested parties.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes experience 1) planning, developing, staffing, coordinating and conducting studies and analyses related to employment and training programs; 2) providing advice, counsel and extensive recommendations regarding the implementation of an agency and/or organization's mission; AND 3) assisting with the training opportunities related to apprenticeship.

For the GS-14
